Christoffel Hendrickx was born in 1983 in Kapellen, Belgium. He was a child poet and studied Literature and Theatre at the University of Antwerp. During his last years at collage, he directed plays and performances and published two books of poetry (Altijd hetzelfde Anders en Jouw Vel Op Mijn Vel). Under the guidance of Frank Vercruysse (tg Stan) his class produced and played Een tipje van de luier , which won at the Festival of Groningen in 2007.
After his graduation Christoffel was active in crossover performance and underground literature, music and arts. For example the installation performance Bad-End was produced for Foam Lab, with visual artist Sara Schelkens. Hendrickx directed and produced a play called DeGrotenPrins which premiered at the Prefab Festival in Leuven and was scened again at the Scheldapen in Antwerpen. Afterwards he created the performance event EVAR for the city of Antwerp in which he made a cross-bread between theatre and events like parties and festivals.
He retired early from producing theatre and did one more direction of the drama Bound produced by Noosfeer vzw for Edinburgh Fringe festival. Christoffel shifted to activism and coordinated WTF (World Turn Free), a public disobedience arts project and the Chaletters free library project in Antwerp, before he traveled to the Southern Hemisphere to re-school in yoga, permaculture and veganism.
His last poetry book Upgrade was published on return to Belgium and with a new project Poetation he brings a crossover of poetry, soundhealing and meditation. Christoffel writes yoga articles, occasional stories, poetry and songs and On my way home is his first English novel.
